Not All Past Life Regressions Go As Planned

3/2/2016

Have you read Journey of Souls by Dr. Michael Newton? It is a great book on spiritual regression that explores what happens after a client has been regressed into a past life, then moves to the last day in that lifetime. Without a body, where are you?

Dr. Newton uses hypnosis to help the client find the past life memories. He’s performed so many of these sessions driven by a desire to further research and understand his findings.  The book is written in a dialogue fashion between hypnotherapist and client.

So back to the question: Without a body, where are you? Eventually you return to the Spirit Realm. Dr. Newton does a fantastic job of mapping out these inner worlds.

The only problem with this book, and others like it, is that every session that makes it into the book is a nice tidy package - bow included.

As a hypnotherapist specializing in Past Life Regression, Life Between Lives, and Spiritual Hypnotherapy, I get a vast amount of clients who have read Journey of Souls and other books like it. Many arrive full of nervousness, fear, excitement, and expectation.

I always tell clients, "I cannot guarantee you will go back to a past life (although most do), or get to the Spirit Realm. What I can guarantee is you will get exactly what you need."  Sessions are as unique as each individual, and often not a neat, tidy and predictable package.

I'm writing this article in the attempt to help people seeking the wonderful benefits of Past Life Regression to process their experience if it doesn't follow the typical pattern laid out in past life regression books. And to encourage them in finding the healing and transformation in a not-so-typical session!

Several weeks ago I saw Jill, an engineer who had lost her father years earlier.  She was still suffering with grief. She had read Journey of Souls and was concerned about being able to let herself go deeply enough into trance.  Despite spending much of her days in her left-brain thinking as an engineer, intuitively I knew she wouldn't have a problem going deep, but that she would end up fighting her experiences.

We went back in time to revisit happy childhood memories and then through a tunnel with the intention of traveling to the perfect lifetime to assist with her present life, moving forward.  Jill struggled to get to a past life. On the other side of the tunnel, it was black.

She was disappointed and her mind began to fight the process. Intuitively I could see the black wasn't bad. As a matter of fact, many of my clients go to a black when they skip the past life and go directly to a higher realm. More on that later.

I asked Jill to go deeper and trust what was happening, turning her attention to the feelings. She said she was feeling a pulling, floating sensation. We spent several minutes in the darkness which became outer space and eventually pulled her home to her soul group. She was met by her father in this life. The experience was quite emotional and ultimately profound.

Everything in my intuition told me that this reunion was the entire reason this session had occurred. I also felt she would need to process all that she experienced before the next session, you know the one that would provide her more of what her logical mind wanted to happen in the first place.

After coming out of session, Jill admitted her disappointment for not being able to reach a past life or her guide. I asked her to trust the process, keep her thoughts positive, and allow what she experienced to settle in.

She did. She followed up with a letter the next week. Here is an excerpt:

"I walked into your office with hopes for past life visions of locations like Europe during WWII, or Egypt during the time of the pharaohs. When I left your office I had nothing like that. Instead, what I left with was something infinitely more valuable: A connection with my Dad and a new found feeling of peace and joy.

I can’t put into words how it felt, but it was the single most spiritual experience of my life. I was enveloped and filled with joy, love, happiness, relief, peace, and home. Long pulsating waves of love, pure love coursed through my entire body. It was electric. Try to imagine the most meaningful embrace you have ever felt in your entire life and multiply it by the largest number you can conceive…that was how it felt."

I've seen a few clients take their session and react negatively, belittling their experiences just because they didn't get to a past life. This makes me very sad.

Typical Life Between Lives or Past Life Regressions are not always a tidy little package, like a 30 minute television show containing a clean beginning, middle and end. So, if you are thinking about undergoing a past life regression, try to keep your mind open and release any expectations.  Your hypnotherapist should help you through this as well.

Clients who walk away with expectations dashed have a choice to find the healing in the process or go to the negative and dismiss the experience. My hope is for them to find the healing and beauty in their experiences.

Ask Marcella - Why Do You Charge More than The Average QHHT Practitioner?

7/23/2015

Q: Marcella, Why do you charge more than the average QHHT Practitioner?

A: Hi Loli,
Each practitioner determines their rate independently. Of course in business, there is the supply and demand principle. If you charge too much, you don't have clients and too little you're over worked.

I teach Spiritual Hypnotherapy and Past Life Regression, and have over 20 years experience being a Clinical Hypnotherapist. It is very important to me to make sure my students charge their value (which is often an issue with healers, especially when just starting out). I want no reason for a client not to choose one of my students. If I were charging $400 like them, I would have too many clients because the clients would choose me (the teacher) over the new student (even though I may not be the one for them).  In addition, I'm in an area of the country has an extremely high cost of living where everything costs a great deal (I'm near Napa).

My sessions go as long as they need to and I never cut a client off. I follow your guides' directions.  The sessions for QHHT usually go for 3 to 5 hours.

I'm not sure your actual motivation for the email, and could answer better based on why you ask.

I could list my toolbox, like that I'm a psychic medium, Reiki Master, and ThetaHealer etc., or tell you I've studied with Brian Weiss, Michael Newton, Dick Sutphen, Lyn Buchannan, Lisa Williams, Dorene Virtue in addition to Dolores, or that I have a book out with Deepak Chopra and Jack Canfield.

But to me none of those really matter. Level 2 doesn't really matter when choosing a practitioner to me either.  How long they have been practicing may matter, but then again some practitioners are amazing right out of the gate. They come here as very old souls who've done the work before.  Also, some people have been practicing for years but only see a few clients per year versus a practitioner who sees 70 or hundreds per year.

My typical clientele are very old souls and seem to need to remember who they are at the core. They are amazing beings and have often had difficult lives. Not everyone needs my level of service.

If you are looking for a session, look at the person's photo and go with your own intuition, your own gut feeling and you will be absolutely best served.

If you are a practitioner trying to figure out why I charge so much, I think Dolores set a very low price for something so life changing. But she lived in a location that was economically depressed too.  She charged $400 and lived in the Ozark Mountains.

There are other very similar Spiritual Hypnotherapy techniques to getting to your guides and your higher self to receive the healing and guidance one desires and most of them charge more than the Cannon method as well.

I hope this helps, and that you find what you are looking for!  Let me know if you have any more questions.

I've told many clients, "If you really want a session with me and it feels right, ask the angels/guides/aliens to bring you the money. They Will!"

In Joy,

Ask Marcella - Q: What do you do?

Q: Marcella, can you explain how your stuff works. (From a long-time friend)

A:
You asked about how my stuff works...I'm an energy healer and intuitive and hypnotherapist. I help people any way I can. I don't know how to explain it without a 10 min phone call, so all my marketing stuff isn't really up. LOL I just know I get to watch miracles happen for people every day.

I trust that the people who come to me are sent because they know they need whatever I have to offer. I'm not religious, but believe in a higher power/collective consciousness/higher-self/universal power (or whatever one wants to call it).

My best analogy for what I do is a garden hose. I'm the hose. Spirit/God/Universe, or whatever you call it, is  the water. People are plants. Plants need water. Some plants, without a hose/sprinklers, don't get watered and wither. People call on me when they need water that isn't naturally being offered. Sometimes we hit dry conditions (i.e., hard times). I'm nothing special; there are many hoses.

My job is to keep my hose un-kinked and free of debris. So I have a perpetual job of working on myself to be un-gunked. LOL. Well, that may not really explain what I do to you, but it's the best I've got. Nothing special, but I can bring messages from Angels and Deceased loved ones if my hose is clear. And run energetic repairs for lifelong issues (and even past life issues), and guide people through hypnosis experiences.

Healing Old Hurts

This message is energetically embedded with healing for all who read it and wish to accept it.

Question
(Revised to not contain any specific information)
Marcella, Could you please send me healing or prayers as I am feeling so down again. More than 10 years ago my husband left me just before Christmas for another woman who he got pregnant. It devastated me. I'm now happily remarried so it doesn't make sense but this holiday time of the year got me again. The depression is so heavy and I'm sick with a sore throat. Love, Sally

Answer
Sally, for you and others who have experienced a trauma emotional moment, I would recommend you call your energy back from that day he told you. I like to see it as golden droplets of our own soul essence that have been cleaned and cleared of any of the trauma. Feel it go into your body. Then call back all your energy across time and space. Any lifetime that has a match or a complementary link to what needs healing can clear as well as anything you are ready to heal.

Once you've pulled back your healed energy, you can take a moment and talk to that younger you and tell her that all is well now and that she doesn't have to stay stuck in the past trauma. Ask her if she is willing to come back to you and integrate completely into the now with your wonderful husband. Tell her that no matter what she can trust your own heart to always love her. Tell her how loving and lovable she is no matter who else acknowledges it. Keep asking her (even if it takes several tries on different occasions) until you feel the full integration of her. It is like all the threads that are woven together to create a blanket and should sparkle feeling throughout your entire body sometimes feels like a wave of energy.

At the soul level we are never a victim. It is important to feel all the feelings and not shove down any anger (which is so often frowned upon in the spiritual communities). But we must allow the feeling to come and feel it fully then to move through it to the point where we can find either the lesson or our own Soul's reason for creating the event.

Sally, your sore throat may be indicative of you not voicing your true feelings. Check to see if you have processed all the anger. It sounds like you have a wonderful loving relationship in the now and that would be a good reason to create the other leaving your life. It is also the belief that everyone fails/disappoints you that can keep attracting the same lesson in different clothes to you. Feel that energetic block lifting now so that you can step into the reality you truly wish to live. You are loveable.

Much healing, much love and much joy to you all!

Hypnosis in Layman’s Terms

10/10/2013

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is focused concentration with relaxation. It is a natural state we go in and out of several times a day. Most people are not aware of this true definition of hypnosis.

Examples of our natural hypnotic state include:
  • Watching a movie and focusing so intensely that you are not distracted by external sensation
  • Being at dinner, reaching for the salt and so engrossed in a friend’s story that you stop yourself in mid-reach
  • Driving a car and day dreaming
  • Reading a good book and not hearing the kids playing in the next room
Another word for theses states of being is trance, and the trance state varies in depth. Hypnosis is a word that has many negative connotations and yet it is a natural and totally safe opportunity to focus inward. A therapist can stimulate the trance state, but only with the individual’s agreement. If you are not in agreement with moving into a trance state, you will not get there. And you will only go as deep as you desire. No one can make you go there.

Alternative Labels for Hypnosis include:
  • Guided Imagery
  • Guided Meditation
  • Deep Relaxation
  • Visualization

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I help clients intensely focus inwardly while deeply relaxing. I believe that there is all you need to help you “be the best you,” within your own subconscious. The hypnotherapist can guide you in accessing your own power to heal from within.

Who is In Control in Hypnosis or Hypnotherapy?
Because your consent is the cornerstone of allowing yourself to go to this deep level, your trust in the hypnotherapist is extremely important. Without trust, your subconscious will block you from accessing important and often immediate transformational information.

Will I know What is Happening During Hypnosis?
There is a great misconception to hypnosis and that is while in a state of trance, you are unaware of what is going on. This is absolutely not true. Just like when watching an enthralling movie and you block out the phone, or the kids next door you may not consciously be aware of the possible distractions but if the kids came in the room with a bloody lip, you would immediately stop what you are doing. It is the same with being hypnotized. If the hypnotist asks you to do something that is out of alignment with your wishes, you will immediately be aware and can choose to comply or not.

Subconscious Mind

The subconscious mind has a natural protective ability.  For example, another hypnotherapist tells a story of before he became a hypnotherapist, he was going to a hypnotist and while in the deep trance state, she told him to update his look by shaving his beard and moustache and getting rid of his glasses. He was not in agreement with directive and suddenly was fully alert and told her that that was a wrong thing to do. I could not agree more! It IS wrong and unethical to direct clients where it was never their intention to go. Luckily your subconscious protector, sometimes called “the overseer” is always at work.

Will I Remember During Hypnosis?
Another misconception is that you won’t remember. Many times people will say “I wasn't hypnotized, I remember everything you said.” Unfortunately, there is no signifying bell that goes off telling you, “now you are hypnotized.” Most of the session will be remembered.

After a session with my clients, we do a review where I go over my notes of what happened and my assessment. By going over what occurred, most people then recall any missing details.  Sometimes information comes in so fast that remembering anything, without a review with your Hypnotherapist can be a blur.

Hypnosis helps with many issues such as:
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Fears and Phobias
  • Sleeplessness
  • Grief and Bereavement
  • Career Guidance
  • Pain Management or Removal
  • Enhancing Relationships
  • Bring Out Latent Talents
  • Reconnecting with Happiness
  • Weight Loss

Is Hypnosis Safe?
Hypnosis is natural and completely safe. While some results may come in the first session, it may take several sessions depending upon how deep the pain and your ability to open yourself to the process and to the hypnotherapist. As long as you are able to trust your Hypnotherapist and your desire is in agreement with your deepest self, you WILL see results.

There is great healing available from within yourself, we all have it. You can access it yourself through meditation a good hypnotherapist is simply a vehicle to open this access to your highest self.

The more you are able to practice meditation on your own, the more you will be able to open up to the deeper parts of yourself and thus allowing the Hypnotherapist to take you to an even deeper place of self-healing. The access is within you and the healing comes from you.

Past Life Regression, Belief is Unnecessary for Healing

10/6/2013

Original Date Published:  Date Published:  April 27, 2011

From a counseling perspective, of course our past effects our current state of being. Those things in our lives that have traumatized us can create deep long lasting responses. Just as someone who has been abandoned by a loved one, this abandonment will rise up when a similar feeling occurs in the present moment.

For example, say as a young girl, Lisa’s father left her family or died. This may leave Lisa with a deep fear of abandonment. This fear and hurt if left unresolved will pop up in very negative ways for Lisa. Like if a friend calls to cancel a date, these old feelings may make Lisa overreact or become depressed. So to say the past effects us if left unresolved is accurate and profound.

Believe in Past Lives, or Not
No matter what your belief in past lives is you can still heal from Past Life Regression Therapy. Think of it this way: the subconscious mind, also known as your higher self, is always guiding you; whether you choose to listen or not is another issue. The subconscious can use imagination and metaphors to provide you with the answers you need to gather deeper understanding of yourself and your motives. So you can think of past life regression as just imagination. It doesn’t matter. By going with the imagination and just allowing thoughts and images to flow to you, amazing revelations can occur. These revelations can have lasting effect on your present and future state of being and how you operate.
While I personally have always believed in past lives, I use to think there was no use for those memories. Since working with clients and Past Life Regression, I realize the depth of healing that can occur from these memories. Just as, quite often the past experiences (this life or others) effect our current, deep healing occurs by acknowledging the past.

Creative Imagination in Past Life Regression
Past life memories can also be thought of as creative imagination, your subconscious ability to bring up issues and create metaphors for growth and healing. Just like dreams can be metaphor, or other types, allowing your subconscious to speak to you give opportunity for growth.

Your subconscious is your true self, your highest self, your Soul Self. You can tap into your subconscious on your own by meditating, praying, listening inwardly, and hypnosis (the deep state of relaxation and focused concentration). Practice helps. You can access healing much more quickly with practice.

I respect all points of view. For my clients, it doesn't matter if they believe it to be real, what does matter, is that healing and change occurs in this life and moving ahead. This takes being open to the experience, even if it is viewed as just imagination.

Don’t get caught up on words and semantics, just evaluate from the standpoint of "Am I behaving and feeling different, better, than I was before the session?"

Ask Marcella - Karma and Intention

Question on Karma and Intention
Hi M, I have a question/thought to pass by you. Could the Lords of Karma be intertwined with the random thoughts that float into our subconscious & if tapped create (karmic) experiences? Which is why Intention becomes so important?

Marcella's Answer - Intention and Karma

My intuition says there is a flaw in the thinking. Random thoughts don't float into our subconscious. Nothing is random. Our highest self is always choosing what comes in...sometimes just for the experience/lesson. Luckily karma is neither good nor bad! :)))) YAY!

Intention is important. Intention sets the undercurrent of vibration to which each and every action and thought is sent out to the universe. Intention is always being sent out - even when done unconsciously. We can say "I Love You" with a needy or controlling intention and we can say "Stop That!" with a loving intention. People get the intention above all. Some have spent years ignoring what intentions they are picking up making life confusing. Intention is karmic in a way because each and every intention sent out into the universe is what is boomeranged back to us.

In Joy,
M

Ask Marcella - Prayer

10/5/2013

Original Date Published:  Date Published:  May 18, 2011

Question: Praying for People
Marcella, My son is going through some crazy growing pains I pray for him so much ... Does this mean that my intentions through prayer will be answered for him?

Answer: Intention through Prayer
Hi L -
Intention through prayer does send out vibration and can help someone to transform, but only if that is the desire of his higher self.

I'm using the term prayer and by that I mean it in any way you choose.  Prayer need not be on bent knee - you can walk and pray, speak in tongues, meditate or any other means. Prayer is sending out messages to God/Source/Buddha/The Universe or whatever word you use.

Let's talk about prayer for other people here for a minute. Prayer does affect people and sometimes does not help them if it is not their soul's desire.

We all have our own desired path and lessons we chose to come here to learn.

It is one thing to pray for an outcome and a totally different to pray for the highest good for someone. When praying for a specific outcome, I ask a person's permission before I pray for them. If the person is spinning out of control (i.e., drugs etc.) or in a place where I can't communicate with them physically, I go into a meditative state and ask them at a soul level. If you do this, be content with the answer if it is "no" to let it go.

My most common method to "pray" for someone is to simply focus on the energy of Divine Love (pure source / God energy) sending them this Divine Love energy to use for their highest and best good - whatever that means and however they choose to use it is not my business no matter how much I think I know what's best for them or how much I love them.

And we should also talk about energy. When we love someone so much we often send a piece of us to them. We do this out of love, but unfortunately it does not help them and it doesn't help us. As a matter of fact, it effects both parties. Some of the feelings may include feeling off, depressed, feeling out of control, feeling lost, or incompleteness. If these feelings are occurring, soul retrieval may be necessary. Competent hypnotherapist or shamanic healers or meditations would bet the resource for soul retrieval.

Altruism, Ultimate Happiness and Boundaries

2/14/2011

Altruism is defined by Merriam Webster as an unselfish regard for or devotion to the welfare of others. But this definition is not complete for me. I like the definition that the Dalai Lama offers.

"Altruism has two aspects. Loving others does not mean that we should forget ourselves. When I say that we should be compassionate, this does not mean helping others at the expense of ourselves. Not at all. Sometimes I say that the [God/Source/Buddhas] are the most selfish of all. Why? Because by cultivating altruism they achieve ultimate happiness.

We, in our selfishness, are very foolish and narrow-minded. All we do is create more suffering for ourselves. The selfishness of the [God/Source/Buddhas] is functional and efficient (regarding altruistic behavior). It allows them not only to achieve awakening, but also the capacity to help others. That is really worthwhile. For me, this proves that to create maximum happiness for oneself, one needs to develop compassion, this is Buddhist logic. If compassion induced misery, then it would be questionable. Why practice something that brings us more trouble? But that is certainly not the case with compassion.

Just imagine if we all lived with NO compassion, thinking only of ourselves. We would suffer greatly. The more you think of others, the happier you are." Dalai Lama

We must not forget ourselves in cultivating altruistic behavior. In our compassion and assisting others we are still allowed to set boundaries and allow or disallow how we are treated. Our compassion can and does exist separate from behavior we allow as acceptable from others.

For example, I was in a situation with a co-worker recently and I was altruistically offering my time, assistance and ear on a personal level when the co-worker's behavior turned provocative and unacceptable to me. I was not judging him; however, in discernment of the situation it made me uncomfortable thus unacceptable. In a firm manner, I set the boundary that the behavior was not appropriate and recognize that his desire of my time and attention had ulterior motives. With this new understanding I was able to back away from a desire to help him without guilt. Yes, I still have unconditional love for him as Soul learning his own lessons in life. I have no anger or judgment; however, nor will I place myself in a situation where I assist him again. That is the balance.

Altruism is a key to developing happiness; however, it must be done with just as much love, care and concern for self and boundaries as we offer others. Then giving freely of self is a beautiful experience. Again in the words of the Dalai Lama "Loving others does not mean that we should forget ourselves." Altruism should not create negative circumstance.

Wishing you ultimate happiness via cultivating altruism full of self love!
